The scourge of colt’s cricket, the cancellation, meant only our Under 12s saw action hosting the usually strong Bovey Tracey U12s.
Torquay won the toss and elected to bat. Leading the way with 33 was Blaise Baker before his compulsory retirement supported by Josh Nott with 21. Whilst Bovey Tracey’s bowling was a little wayward leading to 44 extras, their fielding was superb with 2 excellent run outs.
Apart from a third wicket partnership between Joseph Taggart and Henry Greet of 44 and an unbeaten seventh wicket partnership between Sam Field and Ethan Scott of 31, Bovey Tracey’s batting never really got going – extras top scored with 49. With everyone getting a bowl, the only Torquay bowler to take two wickets was Francis McNally with 2 for 11.
Torquay ended up winning by 25 runs.
