Have no fear when a 6 is hit the train station side of the ground now – new netting has gone up to protect passers’ by and vehicles.
A big thank you must go to Frank Smalley Demolition Services and the club’s merry band of volunteer groundsmen for doing all the work, especially ex-president, Rob Dickinson, who got straight on the roller afterwards as the ground was “good to soft” instead of the ideal “good.”
Hopefully the new netting will mean less work for the club’s no 1 ball boy, Ollie Latto’s grandad. Evo will also be happy as the fabled spares collection shouldn’t take such a hit now.
