Sixth Report from South Africa

Devon commenced the second and final day of their two day match verses Western Province U14s on 110 for 1. Noah Carlisle who was undefeated on 39 went onto score 56. However, the highlight was a century by Lawrence Walker who went onto score 123. When Devon declared on 351 for 5 after 80 overs, neither Harry Passenger nor Noah Rider had been required to bat.

In their 2nd innings, Western Province started off brightly but collapsed from 28 for 1 to 45 for 6 in no small part to Noah who returned figures of 3 for 20 off 9 overs and Jacob Kopparambil who returned match wining figures of 4 for 18 off 10.4 overs. Once again Harry didn’t bowl – no news on the reason why. Western Province were all out for 99 in 36.4 overs. A fine win for Devon by an innings and 41 runs.

Last up for the tourists will be a 1 day match verses Western Province U15s on Friday at The Vineyard Oval which has actually hosted a first class match back in 2006/7.
