Sonny Baker’s First Outing with Somerset CCC 1st XI – Day 3

By early afternoon Somerset had somewhat collapsed to 107 for 6 thus increasing the prospect of Sonny having to bat and hit the winning runs. Only one further wicket fell with the target insight so a nice leisurely day on the balcony for Sonny.

However, with the Royal London Cup being run in parallel with “The Hundred” and Somerset losing so many players to the latter including Devon members of their seam attack, Lewis Gregory and Craig Overton. Is there a chance of Sonny debuting in it this season? Having listened to Andy Hurry, Somerset’s Director of Cricket, at the club’s virtual AGM. There is every chance youngsters will be needed to be blended in with the remaining established players to challenge for silverware.
