THE TYPHOONS FLY INTO ACTION

It might not be Fielding, Harris, Harvey-Trott, Newbold and Robinson of a decade ago.

However, Torquay CC took a massive step forward with the Wicket & Wickets X(I) making their (competitive) debut at Queens Park last Friday.

I use the word competitive with a little caution, but then is any member of the Baker household not competitive, who saw the catch by Faye Rider in early season training will never forget it (unfortunately husband Steve didn’t catch it on CCTV) and then young Abigail Bevan who has already played for the 2nd XI this season.

The Typhoons might have had their wings ultimately clipped by 15 runs but from all accounts a successful “test flight”. For once the score didn’t matter.

Most importantly the return of Ladies Cricket at Torquay CC took one massive step forward. A huge thank you must go to Ben Passenger for driving this forward with assistance from Matt McCann.
