Torquay CC Helping To Shape ECB Safeguarding Training

The ECB are soon to release a new Safeguarding Introduction Module on their e-learning platform and Torquay CC have been at the forefront with the user testing.

Evo though more well known as the club’s 1st XI scorer is the Welfare Officer for the Devon Association of Cricket Officials and assists Penny Bailey the club’s Welfare Officer especially when it comes to ID Verification for Cricket DBSs – during the numerus lockdowns he has been one of the very few able, for his sins, to do them by video link.

Having linked up with the ECBs e-learning team last summer though, Evo was asked, as a lay person, to user test the new module.  Evo thought the new module was very good except for one of the names used in one of the scenarios – a nick name of a famous cricketer didn’t feel 100% right.

Although there is no precise release date for the new module, it will be sooner rather than later.
