Although it has been known for several weeks two Torquay “vollies” (an Australian slang word before anyone asks) have been recognised by the Devon Cricket Board for their efforts. Finally, it has hit the media – with Torquay CC the only club in the whole of South Devon having two “vollies” recognised. An honour in itself for, the club under the forward thinking chairmanship of Ian Baker.

As Evo says, “Whilst you don’t volunteer to get recognised. Vollies are appreciated and so do get recognised. I would encourage anyone attached to the club to consider volunteering as clubs can’t survive without vollies. An odd half hour here and there can make a significant difference.”
Those willing to accept the call to arms can email Evo (Nicholas Evanson) at email@example.com and he will forward details to the appropriate person.
