Somerset County Cricket Club are running a competition on their website to find the Best Club Ground in the West Ground:

We might all be slightly bias but let’s make sure The Rec wins the Devon nomination to gain entry to the virtual competition. By voting you could also be a winner – the winning club will get 20 tickets for a County Championship match in 2021. If the Rec wins – all members of Torquay CC will be entered into a random draw for the tickets.
The six criteria we have to consider are:
Scenery – from Evo’s “summer house” otherwise known as the scorebox, the views over to Brixham on a nice day are absolutely stunning!
Pitch – well we are the last club in Devon to host a First Class match!
Facilities – who can beat our nets?
Food – Jackie’s Lemon Drizzle cake, do we have to say more!
Location – how many clubs can you see an Ancient Monument from?
Club Characters – now where do we start with that!
